In the terminal as root user, enter:

apt-get install ttf-arphic-gbsn00lp ttf-arphic-gkai00mp ttf-arphic-bsmi00lp ttf-arphic-bkai00mp

...to install Chinese fonts.
2 - Install input method (IM) engines

Enter:

apt-get install scim scim-m17n scim-modules-table scim-pinyin scim-tables-zh
